Rejected...

This illustration is about someone coaching an unemployed person. He's is rowing in his paper resume boat, and the coach is giving him directions.
Unfortunately the illustration was rejected in the end. On second thought they found the illustration too negative.
Too bad, although I personally am very glad I got to finish the sketch. I learned some more about textures and digital illustration...

More than a comment it is a questions.

In cases like this one did you get paid?

I trying to get into the illustration business and I just wondering how to handle this scenario.

Thanks,
Emerson

PS
By the way great website.

I wouldn't have rejected it! Beside the great skills it shows, it has a wonderful sense of humour

Hi Emerson,

Thanks for your comment.

Always make sure you get paid for the work you do. When you buy a suit it is up to you wether you wear it or not. You have to pay for it anyway...

Its a great illustration and i for one think its 'negativity' is very true to life in our workfare society!

It's a shame it wasn't used. I really like it.

Always a great variety of work here, Wouter.
